- Abstract
- This layer (zip file) shows the coverage of the coral reefs in the Wider Caribbean Region (2009 estimations). The coral reef habitat lies within the "Coral reef sub-ecosystem" which also hosts mangroves and seagrasses. This sub-ecosystem receives special attention in the CLME+ SAP due to the importance of the spiny lobster and queen conch fisheries for local livelihoods.

- Purpose
- The use of this layer is important to identify locations where coral reefs are abundant. Other layers can be overlayed to analyze the status of conservation(e.g. protected areas), or where hazards to the habitat take place.
